This is the place to be if you ever wanted to live in a village yet have access to all the big city amenities. Founded in 1784 by United Empire Loyalists, Portsmouth is one of Kingston’s oldest neighbourhoods. The narrow, winding streets are dotted with spectacular limestone homes with many of them being restored to their former glory. The village includes an eclectic mix of owner run businesses including a bakery, house plant and flower shop. This is the hub of Canadian sailing with Portsmouth Harbour being the site for all sailing events of the 1976 Olympics as well as the annual Canadian Olympic-training Regatta.
