Sydenham

Sydenham is the quintessential downtown neighbourhood. Adored by tourists and a point of immense pride for locals, Sydenham’s many charms are world-famous. Many of Kingston's historic limestone structures can be found in Sydenham and the residents are within easy walking distance from some of Kingston’s best shops, restaurants and parks. Since the late 18th century the heart of Sydenham has been the Market Square. Located behind Kingston’s magnificent City Hall, the square serves as market, skating rink, movie theatre, concert stage and outdoor café – bustling with activity even on the coldest of days.
